The instructions were okay, but the holes for the chair back were not deep enough to get the screws all the way in, so I had to completely disassemble it and use a power drill to make the holes deeper. One arm of the chair arrived with a deep gouge, but I did not notice this before I'd destroyed the packing or I would have returned it. I can't say if it's a good value until it's withstood a season or two of being outdoors. It is very upright so good for sitting at a table to eat or read, but it definitely needs cushions.
Bottom Line: Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
